Glumpy & Co.

We’ve all changed since the fateful month of March, 2020. The Covid pandemic forever evolved, removed, and added parts of ourselves that will never be the same. To be fully transparent, I personally felt (and still sometimes feel) as if the life had been sucked out of me— perhaps for good.

The pandemic didn’t just bring me a wave of sadness; it brought me an entire 7 oceans of depression and anxiety that still take a lot of work to heal. For the last couple of years, I’ve simply been going through the motions of day-to-day life because the world was already so exhausting on top of the mental crises I was swimming through. This passion project is the spark of excitement that is getting me back into my personal creative practice.

Famous illustrator, Andy J. Pizza states many times in his podcast Creative PepTalk, “Make what you feel.” For the longest time, I was using that as a way to forgive myself for not making artwork due to the fatigue of life. (Isn’t it funny how telling yourself, ‘It’s okay to reward my tired body with some rest',’ can so quickly turn into sleeping 70% of the day?) One day I realized: WAIT, I HAVE TO MAKE WHAT I’M FEELING, NOT WHEN I FEEL LIKE IT.

Hence, the creation of Glumpy & Co, my first personal business. I turn my favorite drawings into stickers (coming soon) which will be sold this summer, and 10% of all proceeds are to be donated to local nonprofit organizations dedicated to mental health advocation, awareness, and treatment.

Stickers will be available this summer! Keep your eye out. June 2023.
